Team Setup
Configure assessments, invites, and reviewer access for a hiring team.
Team setup starts in the Merge workspace. Keep the first rollout narrow so your team can calibrate the assessment before candidates see it.
Setup Checklist
Section titled “Setup Checklist”- Create an organization profile.
- Create an assessment with prompt, code context, and rubric.
- Send a pilot invite.
- Review the pilot result.
- Adjust instructions or rubric language.
- Invite external candidates only after the pilot result looks right.
Assessment Design
Section titled “Assessment Design”Keep assessments narrow. One high-quality diff is better than a large repository snapshot with unclear expectations.
Use rubrics that score observable review behavior:
- catches correctness bugs
- identifies missing tests
- distinguishes severe issues from minor style comments
- communicates clearly
- understands product and system context
Invites
Section titled “Invites”Invites should be scoped to one candidate and one assessment. Candidates should not need to sign in before beginning the assessment.
Recommended invite lifecycle:
- create invite
- email candidate
- candidate opens the invite link
- submission locks the result
- expired or compromised invites are replaced, not reused
Reviewer Access
Section titled “Reviewer Access”Only team members who need to create assessments or review submissions should have reviewer access. Keep candidate links separate from team workspace links.
